If only the Chinese hadn't started producing mozzarella in Campania, the home of Italian Mozzarella, Don Ciccio 'the King of Mozzarella' would have continued producing and selling, selling and producing, and, of course, paying kickbacks to the local camorra (mafia).
But the Chinese have flooded supermarkets and restaurants with their first-rate and, more importantly, half-price cheese. Bankruptcy looms, as well as the camorra. Ciccio needs money, and getting it triggers a series of events that affect everyone around him.
Director Edoardo De Angelis' first full-length feature film takes a light-hearted look at Caserta, in Italy's Campania region, telling a story about music and women, mozzarella and camorra. It explores a world full of irony, blending elements from action movies and Italian comedies while literately resonating with influences from Tarantino and Almodovar, starring among others Aida Turturro (The Sopranos).
